Russian army loses 9 tanks, 16 artillery systems, 920 soldiers in Ukraine in one day - General Staff

Over the last day, 104 combat clashes took place in the frontline. Ukrainian defenders repelled a number of Russian attacks in 6 key areas and eliminated another 920 soldiers

This is stated in the morning report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to April 15, 24 were approximately

  • personnel - about 455,340 (+920) people,
  • tanks - 7,189 (+9) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 13,809 (+13) 
  • artillery systems - 11,609 (+16) 
  • MLRS - 1,046 (+0)
  • air defense systems - 759 (+1) 
  • aircraft - 347 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,277 (+11),
  • cruise missiles - 2,092 (+0),
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0)
  • submarines - 1 (+0) 
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 15,563 (+53) 
  • special equipment - 1,908 (+0).

Situation at the front: over 100 combat clashes took place in the last day, most of them in the Bakhmut sector

The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains unchanged.

Near the northeastern Ukrainian border, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, Russia attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 8 times near Ternivka and Torske in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 33 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region and 6 more settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine's military rebuffed 15 attacks in the areaa of 5 localities in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back their enemy in the areas of 4 populared areas in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 30 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russia attacked the Ukrainian positions 7 times near Staromayorske, Donetsk region; north of Pryiutne and southwest of Bilohiria, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian army has not abandoned its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, Russia made 5 unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian troops' positions.

Russia attacked Ukraine with drones, missiles, and artillery: Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 17 areas of occupiers' concentration

In total, Russia's occupation forces launched 16 missile and 31 air strikes, fired 79 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and localities.

Over the past day, 2 localities in Sumy region, 2 in Kharkiv region, 6 in Donetsk region and 2 in Zaporizhzhia region were subjected to air strikes.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 13 areas of personnel concentration, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems and 1 Russian control point.

Missile troops struck 2 artillery units, 4 areas of personnel concentration and 4 Russian UAV control points.

  • In the evening of April 15, the Russian army launched several groups of attack UAVs into Ukraine. As a result of the combat operations of Ukraine's Defense Forces tere were no hits.
