
"We're talking about lines of demarcation": Trump on Russia-U.S. talks in Saudi Arabia

The negotiations are mainly focused on ending the fighting in the Black Sea, but Trump said that other issues have arisen as he insists on ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
"We're talking about territory right now. We're talking about lines of demarcation, Talking about power, power plant ownership. Some people are saying the United States should own the power plant...because we have the expertise," he said.
Earlier, Russian propaganda agency TASS reported that at about 12:30, the parties completed three-hour consultations and took a break. The negotiations resumed a little more than 60 minutes later.
Closer to 15:00, the parties again took a break, with "consultations" resuming about 45 minutes later.
Earlier on Monday, the Russian delegation arrived at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh for talks with the US representatives.
According to the correspondent of Suspilne, the meeting is closed. Journalists were asked to leave the hotel premises.

A source informed about the preparations for the talks said that the American side is headed by Andrew Peek, senior director of the White House National Security Council, and Michael Anton, a senior State Department official.
Russia will be represented by Grigory Karasin, a former diplomat who is now the chairman of the Federation Council's foreign affairs committee, and Sergei Beseda, an advisor to the director of the Federal Security Service.

On March 20, Russian leader’s aide Yuri Ushakov announced that talks between the Russian and U.S. delegations would take place in Riyadh on Monday, March 24.
Special Representative Keith Kellogg stated that the United States plans to hold separate meetings with Ukrainian and Russian representatives in Saudi Arabia, aiming to facilitate indirect talks.
On March 21, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the American delegation in Saudi Arabia, but rejected the possibility of talks with the Russians.
On March 23, the Ukrainian and American delegations met in Saudi Arabia, where they discussed the security of energy and infrastructure facilities.
