Russian actions in Dnipropetrovsk aimed at pressure, not strategic gain — Dnipro troop grouping
Russian operations In Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region appear more focused on exerting pressure and drawing away Ukrainian forces than achieving any strategic objective
Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for Ukraine’s Dnipro troop grouping, shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“It seems to me that in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as in western Kharkiv, this is more an attempt to pressure us and pull away part of our forces. To be honest, I don’t see any strategic goal there,” he said.
Trehubov described Russian ambitions to reach the settlement of Pavlohrad as overly ambitious.
“If they want to reach Dnipro, that’s not just ambitious — it’s something out of science fiction. So why do it? They are losing significant numbers of troops while achieving minimal gains — maybe entering a small village. I see nothing else except creating additional challenges for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and putting more pressure on us,” he added.
