This is reported by the UK Ministry of Defenсe.
After the occupation of Avdiivka, Russia was still able to advance 6 km from the city center. Russia has almost certainly taken control of several villages in the area: Lastochkyne, Stepove, and Sieverne.
At the same time, these tactical achievements serve primarily to consolidate Russian positions around Avdiivka.
“Russia is also likely seeking to build momentum on the axis to take advantage of the fact that there are fewer fixed, well defended positions, and urban areas from which Ukrainian forces can defend,” the statement says.
- On February 28, the 3rd Assault Brigade drove the Russians out of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. The day before, the invaders had attacked the southeastern part of the town and entered it.
