Russia ramps up production of glide bombs capable of striking targets 200km away — Ukrainian intel
Russia has intensified its work to increase the number of aviation bombs and is introducing new unified control modules that significantly change the way they are used
Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate, stated this, Espreso correspondent Kateryna Halko reports.
Skibitskyi reported that during September-October, the Russian Federation was developing, and is now using in combat tests, aviation bombs with new control modules. These modules significantly increase the combat range — it is expected to be around 150–200 kilometers. During one of the recent tests, the bombs reached a distance of 193 km.
Skibitskyi also pointed to other characteristics of the new munitions: increased resistance to electronic warfare systems and technical solutions that allow for striking at a greater distance. According to him, serial production of such systems is already beginning at enterprises in the Russian Federation. The products are given names such as Grom-1 and Grom-2, although the names may vary.
"We saw the first such strikes on Dnipro, and now we are seeing them in other cities — this is precisely the approach Russia is using," Skibitskyi concluded.
Ukrainian intelligence is confident that the Kremlin's strategic plans remain unchanged - Russia continues to prepare for a possible conflict, using the territory of Belarus.
