Russia to invest in development of four occupied Ukrainian areas — Occupation Studies Center
Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, says that Russia's development plans in occupied Ukrainian territories are visible in Mariupol, Henichesk, Melitopol, and the Kherson region
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“It should be said that today the images of Mariupol and Donetsk are not comparable, because the pictures from Mariupol, at least in the city center, are much brighter compared to what we see now in Donetsk. The Russians have basically forgotten about Donetsk and are doing nothing with it. If you look at the current points of interest for the Russians, it immediately becomes clear what and where they will develop. Sometimes it’s even surprising. For example, Luhansk is already being actively built up with mortgages, while at the same time, nothing is being built in Donetsk at all,” commented Petro Andriushchenko.
According to him, there are also noticeable plans for development in Henichesk, the Kherson region, and Melitopol.
"These are the four points the Russians are focusing on, while everything else will be abandoned. What we left before the occupation will hold on for a while, then crumble and become just an ordinary Russian city. After that, even in its current state, Mariupol will be very attractive for relocation. And if you add that Russians are leaving Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the whole myth about Russia will fall apart," summed up the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation.
- On May 22, the Center for Countering Disinformation revealed how the Russians are trying to rewrite the history of occupied Mariupol.
