Russia loses aircraft, 35 artillery systems, and 1,160 soldiers in one day – General Staff

Over the past day, 71 combat clashes took place at the front. In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops tried to break through the defense of Ukraine’s Armed Forces 25 times. Ukrainian defenders repelled a number of attacks and eliminated 1,160 Russian soldiers

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to March 3, 2024, amounted to:

Frontline update: 71 combat clashes take place over in a day, Ukraine's Armed Forces repel most of Russia's attacks in the Novopavlivka direction

According to the General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted 4 attacks near Tabaivka, Kharkiv region. 

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's troops repelled 8 Russian attacks near Terny, Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 15 attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks near 4 settlements.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukraine's defense forces are holding back the Russian troops near 4 settlements in the Donetsk region, where they tried to break through the defense of the Ukrainian army 25 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian occupying forces conducted 4 attacks near Robotyne and Novoprokopivka.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces keep holding their positions. The Russian army tried to storm Krynky, unsuccessfully. 

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, depleting the Russian army along the entire front line.

Russian troops shell 120 Ukrainian settlements; Ukrainian Armed Forces target Russian positions

Russia carried out an attack with 1 missile and 50 air strikes, launching 112 MLRS attacks on both troop positions and civilian areas.

Over the past day, Russian airstrikes hit 13 settlements across Ukraine.

Russian artillery fire struck over 120 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

Throughout the day, Ukrainian aviation targeted 8 concentrations of Russian personnel, successfully downing a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber.

Ukrainian missile force units inflicted damage on one Russian artillery piece.
