Russia loses 8 tanks, 20 artillery systems, 750 soldiers per day - General Staff

This is stated in the morning report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to April 20, 24 are estimated to be:

• artillery systems - 11,678 (+20) 
• MLRS - 1,046 (+0) 
• air defense systems - 763 (+1)

Russian attacks across Ukraine

In total, the Russian army launched 29 missile strikes, 67 airstrikes, and 67 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. A number of multi-storey buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian forces launched another massive attack on Ukraine, using cruise missiles of various types. Data on this terrorist attack is being clarified.

Over the last day, 1 locality in the Sumy region, 1 in the Kharkiv region, 1 in the Luhansk region, 17 in the Donetsk region, 2 in the Zaporizhzhia region, and 1 in the Kherson region were subjected to air strikes.

More than 120 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian army did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, the occupation forces attacked the Ukrainian positions 13 times near 2 settlements in the Luhansk region and 3 more in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 23 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and 5 more localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine's defenders rebuffed 31 attacks in the areas of 7 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukraine's defense forces are holding back their enemy near Novomykhailivka, Pobieda, and Urozhaine in Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 23 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russia attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 5 times near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian army does not abandon its intention to drive Ukraine's units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, Russia made 7 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions

At the same time, Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 6 areas of Russian personnel concentration and 1 control point.
