Russia looking for weak spots in Ukraine’s defense in Donetsk, Luhansk regions
Russian forces in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are searching for weak spots where they can break through Ukrainian defenses. At the same time, the Ukrainian capabilities in these regions are gradually increasing
Viktor Trehubov, the spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, stated during a telethon.
According to him, the Russian army in Donetsk and Luhansk is facing supply shortages and a lack of personnel.
“They are looking for any places where they might have a potential opportunity for a breakthrough. However, in reality, I believe that the capabilities of Ukrainian forces are gradually increasing, while the Russians are beginning to experience a certain crisis, including supply issues and a shortage of personnel,” Trehubov said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the enemy has not abandoned its goal of reaching the administrative borders of these two regions.
“However, to be honest, they are very far from achieving this goal. Even the small part of the Luhansk region that they have been unable to capture remains out of their control. Although right now, in our Luhansk direction, there is another escalation,” the spokesperson explained.
Trehubov added that the invading forces are increasingly using motorcycles and buggies for movement, as columns of heavy equipment and tanks are quickly destroyed by drones.
- On March 9, it was reported that the Russian army has been unable to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region for nearly a year and is now attempting to bypass the city from the north.
