Russians leak photos from Marinovka airbase, showing results of Ukraine's drone attack
Ukrainian long-range drones successfully hit another Russian airfield - satellite images and photos of the damaged object have been released
Defense Express information and consulting company writes about this.
On August 22, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out another long-range drone strike on the territory of the Russian Federation. This time the target was the Marinovka airbase near Volgograd, located about 270 km from the border with Ukraine. It is known for the fact that of all the airbases located near Ukraine, it has built shelters for aircraft, which, however, are not designed to protect them from attacks.
After all, OSINT researcher posted satellite imagery on the social network X, which shows the results of the attack in detail.
First of all, it is worth noting that the Ukrainian Defense Forces again effectively hit an ammunition depot on the airfield's territory. In fact, this is already a typical scenario of a strike on this particular vulnerable spot, as it was during the attack on Morozovsk or the airfield in Lipetsk earlier this month.
At the same time, these satellite images also show the affected aircraft — at least one Su-34 was destroyed and another may well have been damaged, as the hangar where it was stationed was partially damaged.
At the same time, objective control imagery was later posted online — someone leaked photos of the same hangars, confirming that they were indeed home to aircraft of the Russian occupation forces.
In addition, one of the photos shows ready-made warheads - “balls” - that Ukrainian drones were apparently equipped with (or at least part of, since this kind of warhead would be most effective against aircraft at airfields). For example, the photo shows that a part of one of the hangars was literally turned into a “sieve” by such balls.
Fighterbomber, a Russian military blogger, has already written about these hangars, reminding that they were “donated” by benefactors and complaining that “no miracle happened.”
