Russia launches missile, drone attacks on Ukraine: Kharkiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions hit, casualties reported
Overnight on April 7, Russian forces targeted Kharkiv with attack drones. One drone struck a home, injuring three people. Odesa's port infrastructure was hit by ballistic missiles, injuring a woman. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, damage was due to fragments from downed UAVs
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirms the drone attack, stating, "Kharkiv is under attack by enemy drones."
Terekhov reports that one drone struck a private residence, sparking a fire.
In the morning, it was revealed that a 62-year-old man sustained shrapnel injuries during the night attack. On-site treatment was also provided to a 64-year-old woman and an 87-year-old man.
Additionally, the regional military administration reports that Shahed drones struck the Lozova and Kharkiv districts again at 01:40 a.m., with no casualties reported.
Missile strike in Odesa
The Southern Ukraine Defense Forces report a missile strike on the Odesa region. Late on April 6, Russian troops fired a missile, believed to be an Iskander-M, at Odesa's port infrastructure.
The impact caused a fire, swiftly extinguished by firefighters. The attack resulted in the destruction of an administrative and technical building.
An employee of a nearby enterprise sustained injuries, including a concussion.
Drones in Dnipropetrovsk region
In addition, Russian troops continued their assault by launching Shahed-131/136 drones in the Dnipropetrovsk region at midnight. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 11 attack drones during the nearly three-hour combat operation.
According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, two drones were downed in the Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro districts, while seven were destroyed in the Kamianske district. Falling fragments damaged several buildings and vehicles in the latter district.
