Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz reported the information.
The assault targeted facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions, involving 35 missiles – many of them ballistic – and 60 drones, some of which were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses, Naftogaz said.
The company reported “a significant number” of sites damaged, including some critically. Emergency crews from Naftogaz, the State Emergency Service and other agencies are working to contain the fallout.
“The aftermath of the strike is being dealt with. We are working with Ukraine’s partners to ensure the response is prompt and adequate. Terrorism must not achieve its goals anywhere,” Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretskyi said in a statement.
