Russia launches drone strikes across Ukraine, causing destruction, civilian casualties

Consequences of the attack on Kharkiv region

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, around 02:00 a.m., Russian forces struck a civilian enterprise in Bohodukhiv with a drone.

As a result of the attack, one person was killed, with their burned body recovered from the rubble. Seven others were injured.

Later, it was confirmed that the number of casualties had risen to three, all civilian men.

Strike on Odesa and the region

The head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, reported that Russia carried out a massive drone attack targeting the city’s civilian and energy infrastructure.

"There is damage and destruction. Debris from the attack caused a fire at an industrial building and a gas station. All emergency services are working to mitigate the consequences. Information on casualties is being clarified," he wrote.

Later, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported that multiple fires broke out in Odesa due to the Russian attack. Burning structures included an agricultural machinery hangar, a vehicle repair shop, an auto parts store, solar panels stored outdoors, and a four-story industrial building.

"Critical infrastructure was also affected. According to preliminary reports, there are no casualties," the statement said.

In the morning, DTEK confirmed that another attack had targeted an energy facility in Odesa region the previous evening.

"This marks the seventh attack on the region’s energy system in three weeks. Energy workers are working around the clock to restore operations," DTEK stated.

Air defense operation in Kyiv region

At 11:04 p.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported detecting enemy drones in the area.

"Drones have been detected in the region! Air defense forces are actively engaged. Do not photograph or film our defenders' operations," the administration warned.

Strikes on Poltava and Sumy regions

At 12:10 a.m., Suspilne reported explosions in Poltava region, followed by more blasts in Sumy region at 12:28 a.m. Later, explosions were also heard near Cherkasy.

By morning, it was confirmed that a drone attack hit Poltava district overnight, causing damage to civilian infrastructure. Firefighters responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. According to the Regional Military Administration, there were no reported casualties.

Sumy region was also targeted during the night, specifically the city of Okhtyrka. According to local authorities, two drone strikes damaged a school building, a swimming pool, a garage, and a school bus. No casualties or injuries were reported.
