Russia launches 4 Kh-59 missiles, 23 drones at Ukraine overnight
In the early hours of September 8, Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted one Kh-59 guided missile and 15 Shahed-type drones launched by Russia

The attack occurred as Russian forces fired four Kh-59 air-to-surface missiles from Belgorod and launched 23 Shahed drones from Kursk and Cape Chauda in Crimea.
"Anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire teams, and Ukrainian electronic warfare forces successfully repelled the enemy’s air assault," the report states.
During the battle, one Kh-59 missile and 15 attack drones were successfully destroyed.
Additionally, two drones were lost in action, possibly downed by electronic warfare systems. Three other Kh-59 missiles failed to hit their intended targets due to Ukraine’s active countermeasures.
Air defense systems were engaged in the Odesa, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
