Russia is actively trying to break through Ukrainian defense in Pokrovsk sector - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched a total of two missile strikes on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, using three missiles, 88 air strikes (including 150 guided bombs), carried out almost 4,400 attacks, 110 of them with the use of multiple launch rocket systems, and more than 1,200 attacks by various types of 'kamikaze' drones. 

Situation on the main front lines

As of today, 37 combat clashes have taken place on the frontline. The invading troops carried out 12 air strikes with 35 combat aircraft and 25 strikes with 'kamikaze' drones, and fired 630 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. 

In the Kharkiv direction, six Russia's attacks took place in the area of Vovchansk. Two of them were repelled, fighting continues in four locations. The situation is under control. Over the last day, the Russian troops lost 129 men in the area, 40 of them were irretrievably wounded. Three armored combat vehicles, eight vehicles and three units of special equipment were destroyed. In particular, one tank, three armored personnel carriers, three artillery systems and two vehicles were damaged. 35 Russian dugouts were destroyed and one ammunition depot was destroyed.

In the Kupyansk direction, the attack on Ukrainian positions near Stelmakhivka continues. The situation is under control.

Two Russian attacks have already been repelled in the Siverskyi direction. And three attempts by the invading forces to advance near Spirne and Vyimka continue. Ukrainian troops are inflicting complex fire damage on their enemy.

Five firefights took place in the Kramatorsk direction since the beginning of the day. Two attacks near Kalynivka were repulsed, and combat actions are ongoing in the area of Chasiv Yar. The Russian aggressor has no success.

The Russian army is active in the Toretsk direction, trying to push Ukrainian units out of their positions near Toretsk. Fighting continues in three locations.

The Russian enemy remains particularly active in the Pokrovsk direction. Since the beginning of the day, they have made eight attempts to break through Ukraine's defenses in the areas of 3 settlements. Four of them are still ongoing. The Ukrainian defense forces are taking measures to deplete the offensive potential of the aggressor.

In the Kurakhove direction, the invading troops continue to attack Paraskoviivka. The situation is under control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Five more attacks were rebuffed in the area of Kostiantynivka. Russia suffered losses. They are being counted.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian aggressor is trying to advance in the area of Vodiane. Ukrainian troops are holding back the invaders with fire.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops suppressed a Russian attempt to break through the defense near Novodanylivka.

In other areas, Russia did not conduct active offensive actions.

Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes at the occupation forces

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit two artillery units, four air defense units, two electronic warfare stations and 11 areas where Russia's personnel were concentrated.

• Over the past day, June 28, the Defense Forces eliminated 1,070 Russian troops, seven tanks and dozens of other pieces of equipment.
• On the night of June 29, Ukraine was attacked by 10 Shahed-131/136 attack drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area in Russia.
