Russia steps up its efforts in three new areas: 184 combat clashes at front - Ukraine's General Staff

Yesterday, 184 combat clashes were recorded, with the fiercest fighting in the Pokrovsk direction. Russia also escalated activity in the Kupyansk, Toretsk, and Kurakhove directions.

According to detailed reports, Russia targeted Ukrainian units and civilian areas with 12 missile strikes and 86 airstrikes, deploying 110 guided aerial bombs. Over 4,300 attacks were recorded, including 120 from multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Russian airstrikes hit areas near Esman, Vorozhba, Vilna Sloboda, Atynske, Horile, Bezsalivka, Hlukhiv, Mykhailivske, Uhroidy, Shalyhyne, Yampil, Yastrubyne, Iskrykivshchyna, Bilopilla, Bachivsk, and Budivelne in the Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Zybyne, Senkove, Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, Petropavlivka, and Synkivka in the Kharkiv region; and Mayorsk, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandropil, Hrodivka, Selydove, Vodiane, Shakhtarske, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, along with Sadove and Tyahynka in the Kherson region.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, there were nine clashes near Hlyboke, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Lyptsi.

The Kupyansk direction saw 25 battles, with Ukrainian forces repelling Russian assaults near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, and Stelmakhivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 16 times near Druzhelyubivka, Novosadove, Nevske, and Terny.

The Siversk direction saw four advances by Russian forces near Verkhnokamyanske, Vyimka, and Ivano-Daryivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 17 clashes occurred, with Ukrainian defenders holding the line against assaults near Hryhorivka, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, and Ivanivske.

In the Toretsk direction, 23 battles were fought, particularly near Nelipivka, Toretsk, and New York.

The Pokrovsk direction was the most intense, with Ukrainian defenders repelling 55 Russian assaults in areas near Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Myrolyubivka, Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, Hrodivka, Myronivka, and Selydove. Novohrodivka saw the heaviest concentration of attacks.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian forces halted 22 Russian attacks near Karlivka, Heorhiivka, Mykhailivka, Krasnohorivka, Vodyane, Staromykhailivka, and Kostyantynivka.

The Vremivka direction saw seven Russian advances toward Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Rozdolne — all unsuccessful.

Four skirmishes took place in the Orikhiv direction near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks.

The situation in the Hulyaipole direction remained relatively unchanged.

No signs of Russian offensive groups forming along the Belarusian border were detected.

Along the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces maintained their presence and continued mortar and artillery attacks on Ukrainian areas from Russian territory.

Ukrainian strikes on Russian forces

Yesterday, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery conducted five strikes on areas with concentrated Russian personnel and anti-aircraft defenses. Additionally, they targeted and hit an artillery system, a UAV ground control station, and another key objective.

• During the night of August 27, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using UAVs and missiles. By 09:00, Ukrainian air defense had successfully shot down five Russian missiles and 60 drones.
