The invading Russian army has, for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, used an FPV drone armed with an RPG-based warhead to strike Kharkiv

This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

“This is a new, even more insidious threat that signals an attempt to find weak spots in the city’s defenses,” Terekhov said.

He added that over the past week, the city was hit seven times. As a result, 11 people were injured, including a child — a 14-year-old teenager who suffered a traumatic brain injury. No fatalities were reported.

According to the mayor, the damage once again affected only civilian infrastructure, including private homes, multi-story residential buildings, a printing house, and office spaces.

  • Russian forces used over 99,000 FPV drones in 2024, intensifying attacks in 2025. Ukraine still lacks sufficient net defenses along key supply routes.
