Russia nearly depletes professional army, yet personnel still abundant in Toretsk direction — Ukrainian fighter
Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Yevhen Iievliev notes that in the Toretsk direction, the fighting for a single position can last nearly a month
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“We continue to fulfill our tasks in the Horlivka direction, which is now referred to as the Toretsk direction, as events are developing quite actively near Toretsk. The situation is complicated. Russian forces persistently attack, attempting to push us out of our positions. I don't subscribe to myths about the enemy being clumsy, but regarding their professional army, the Russians have nearly lost that capability. However, the issue isn't whether they are professional or elite; the reality is that they have sufficient numbers,” Iievliev emphasized.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, in the Toretsk direction, Russian troops are no longer repeating the same mistakes they made in Avdiivka, where they would send groups of 50-70 people to conduct assaults.
“The Russians are constantly advancing at night, attempting to infiltrate positions in small groups of up to 10 people and trying to entrench themselves. This means that the battle for a single position can last almost a month. For example, there is one location here that has been contested for a month. So it's not about quality or elite status; unfortunately, the Russians have no shortage of personnel,” Iievliev said.
- On September 19, there were 226 combat clashes at the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian forces launched the most attacks in the Kurakhove direction, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 63 of these assaults.
- According to the OSINT portal DeepState, Russian troops are advancing in four directions, with significant activity reported in the Donetsk region.
