Russia gears up for large-scale offensive on Siversk — Ukrainian officer
Russia has built up a significant number of troops and is intensifying its efforts to take control of the town of Siversk
Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Pantio of the National Guard of Ukraine, who leads operational planning for the 4th Battalion of the Rubizh Brigade's Force of Freedom, shared this information on Espreso TV.
“The Rubizh Brigade continues to carry out its tasks in the Siversk direction. The situation is now more difficult than ever. Russia is intensifying efforts to capture the settlement of Siversk. Russian forces are fortifying their positions and preparing for a large-scale offensive every day. Russian troops also conduct limited offensive actions on a daily basis,” Pantio emphasized.
According to the officer, Russia has manned its forces at a very high level.
"It’s unclear how the Russians will act today — it could be vehicles, motorcycles, or infantry movement. Intelligence reports indicate that Russia currently has manned its forces at a very high level. They have sufficient personnel, as well as weapons, equipment, and ammunition. Every day, Russian troops try to storm our positions in small groups. It’s difficult to operate under such conditions," Pantio added.
- Over the course of Wednesday, May 28, 205 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian occupiers attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions 54 times.
