Russia lacks forces, resources for major offensive operations — Ukrainian military
Ukrainian National Guard Reserve Major Oleksii Hetman believes that the Russian army does not have sufficient forces and resources to conduct large-scale offensive operations
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“Of course, the Russians will try to carry out some offensive operations. However, they announce more than they act. To conduct serious offensive operations, one needs sufficient forces and resources. The number of Russian occupation troops on the front line has not changed. On the contrary, their personnel is gradually decreasing, as their ability to recruit new soldiers through mobilization and recruitment is lower than the number the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminate each month. There's even now an average daily loss figure for the Russians — 1,250 troops,” Hetman explained.
The Ukrainian National Guard reserve major emphasized that the Russians not only can't increase their manpower but are also losing equipment daily to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
“Each month, the Russians lose up to 40,000 troops. They can recruit about the same number monthly. In reality, this results in a negative balance. So the question arises: if the Russians can’t increase their manpower, how can they conduct large-scale offensive operations? The same applies to equipment, which is also being massively destroyed along the front line,” he added.
- On April 16, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported that Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated 1,050 Russian soldiers and a number of enemy equipment and weapons units on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
