Russia drops poison gas munitions from drones, killing Ukrainian defenders
Invading Russian army is using poison gas munitions on the frontlines, dropping them from drones onto the positions of Ukraine's Security and Defense Forces
Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate reported the information.
"Due to the inability of the Russian army to achieve the tasks set by the Kremlin’s leaders on the battlefield, the invaders are using chemicals on the front line — throughout the criminal war against Ukraine, the Russians have systematically used this practice," the intelligence service said.
It is noted that the munitions are mostly RGO grenades. Russia drops them from drones onto the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The gas affects the mucous membranes and respiratory tract.
"Being in the area of chemical exposure without protective gear can have lethal consequences — unfortunately, there have already been fatalities among Ukraine’s defenders," the statement says.
One such incident was recorded in the Zaporizhzhia region near the settlement of Shcherbaky. Moreover, cases of the enemy using toxic gas munitions are increasingly being recorded on other sections of the front line.
- Russian forces have begun actively using toxic substance drops, particularly in the Kupiansk direction. Several instances of using such munitions have been recorded recently.
