Russia deploys large amount of equipment, personnel to Chasiv Yar - Ukrainian major
Ukrainian National Guard Major Dmytro Kozhubenko says that Russia has sent its most trained units, airborne assault troops, to Chasiv Yar
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Despite the fact that Russia has brought a large number of weapons, equipment, personnel, and army aircraft to Chasiv Yar, and is continuously storming the town, it's not succeeding. Despite the fact that Russian soldiers have been tasked with capturing Chasiv Yar by May 9, they will not accomplish this task because Ukrainian defenders are standing like rocks in their positions. Our drone operators detect the enemy in advance and transmit information to the artillery, so the invader is destroyed on the outskirts, unable to reach the Ukrainian positions," commented Dmytro Kozhubenko.
According to him, Russia sent its airborne assault troops to Chasiv Yar, which are among the most combat-ready units in the Russian army.
"Russia is using reconnaissance and special forces units in our direction. They also have such units as Storm Z, Storm V, which are assault units formed from convicts, i.e. an analog of the Wagner PMC, but in a state format," noted the major.
Kozhubenko added that Ukrainian defenders need artillery shells, aircraft, air defense, and electronic warfare equipment.
