Russia damages at least 1,641 schools in Ukraine, destroys 201 more

According to Ukraine’s government website, 727 schools that were damaged have been repaired. Of these, 586 have received minor repairs, while 141 have undergone major renovations.

“The government is working to make the restored schools even better than they were before. We are collaborating with international organizations and architects. A complete redesign of school spaces is part of our efforts to transform the education system,” the government website states.

• In August, it was reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, over 3,400 educational institutions have been damaged or destroyed by Russian attacks.
