Russia continues attempts to seize Toretsk, deploys additional troops, reserves — Ukrainian military

A soldier with the call sign Mamai, an officer of the headquarters of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the Separate Presidential Brigade, reported the information on Hromadske Radio.

“The situation is not much different from what it has been for the past six months, since the enemy announced and declared the capture of the city of Toretsk even before the New Year, 5.5 months ago, and so far they have not abandoned these attempts. Russia is deploying additional forces and reserves. They are suffering significant losses. Several times there has already been a complete rotation of personnel, 100 for 100, and they continue their attempts,” the soldier said.

According to the officer, the situation on the battlefield changes every three months:

“What was possible three months or six months ago is impossible now. But at the same time, new opportunities are opening up. The enemy has not abandoned the tactic of assaults using armored vehicles, but their number has significantly decreased, because the armored vehicles are detected long before our drone operator sees them. Once they are detected, they can be considered destroyed. As soon as they appear, they are destroyed."

• In May, the press officer of the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Serhiy Khominskyi, reported that over the past 10 months, Russian troops have lost about 20,000 killed and 50,000 wounded in the Toretsk direction.
