Russia conducts most attacks in Novopavlivka sector, using aircraft, artillery and mortars - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Over the past day, Russia launched 3 missile and 76 air strikes, fired 61 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct offensive (assault) operations, however, it conducted air strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Kotlyarivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled one Russian attack near Terny, Donetsk region. Russia launched an air strike near Makiivka and Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar shelling, including Makiivka, Terny and Torske in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, Russia carried out 8 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Klishchiyivka, Andriivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation. Russia also carried out air strikes near Ivanivske, Rozdolivka and Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar and Klishchiyivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks near Berdychi, Donetsk region, where Russian enemy tried to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions. The enemy also carried out air strikes near Novobakhmutivka, Novoselivka Persha, Ocheretyno and Umanske in the Donetsk region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Netaylove and Nevelske in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back Russian enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defenses of our troops 20 times. The enemy launched air strikes near the towns of Oleksandropil, Vodiane and Urozhayne in Donetsk Oblast. More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire from Russian forces, including Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Vuhledar in Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia, with the support of aviation, launched two attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and north-west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy also conducted an air strike near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Chervone, Bilohirya, Novodanylivka and Lobkove in Zaporizhzhya region.

In the Kherson sector, the Russian enemy does not abandon its intention to force our units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 3 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops. More than 10 settlements came under enemy fire, including Mykilske, Tyahynka, Beryslav in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 4 anti-aircraft missile systems and 7 areas of concentration of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Missile troops destroyed an air defense system, 2 electronic warfare stations and 2 areas of enemy concentration.

• Over the past day, 76 combat engagements took place at the frontline. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 31 Russian attacks in the Bakhmut sector and neutralized 890 Russian soldiers.
