Frontline update

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive operations.

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's soldiers repulsed 2 attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed 31 attacks near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Chasiv Yar and 9 more settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine's defenders repelled 8 attacks near 3 settlements in the Donetsk region, where Russian troops tried to drive them out of their positions.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defense forces are holding back Russian troops near Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they tried to break through the Ukrainian defense over 22 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops launched 5 attacks near Staromayorske, Donetsk region; Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops remain determined to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, 8 attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions were made.

Attacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian positions

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupying forces, depleting them along the entire front line.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 1 Russian control center, 5 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1 communication tower and 13 concentrations of personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 1 Russian anti-aircraft missile system, 1 UAV control center, 1 artillery system, and 3 concentrations of weapons and military equipment.

  • On April 6, ISW analysts said that the Russian army had launched a new wave of attacks in the Bakhmut direction. Russia is currently concentrating its efforts in the area of Chasiv Yar.
