He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation in the Bakhmut direction is complicated. The enemy is trying to accomplish the task set by the higher headquarters. That is, the Russians are trying to push Ukrainian defense in the direction of Chasiv Yar. Yesterday, Russian troops tried to counterattack in the direction of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske," noted Kalashnikov.
According to him, Russian forces are also trying to attack the southern flank of Bakhmut, towards Klishchiivka and Andriivka.
"Russians have amassed a significant force in this area. Near Bohdanivka, the invading Russian army deployed airborne troops, an infantry unit and reinforced with a volunteer assault unit," emphasized Kalashnikov.
- Russian forces launched 25 attacks in the past day in the Marinka direction, Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces repelled the assaults, eliminating 990 Russian soldiers.
- Russian troops began to use chemical weapons more often, as well as a new type of grenades with poisonous substances.
