Russian overnight attack injures 26 across Ukraine: 10-year-old girl among wounded in Kyiv

Consequences of attack on Kyiv

At 8:05 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the number of injured had increased to 23.

"14 of them were hospitalized. Others were treated on an outpatient basis or on the spot," he added.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, residential buildings, educational, medical and transport infrastructure in Kyiv were damaged.

"As of this morning, there are more than 20 wounded, including a 10-year-old girl. Emergency services - the State Emergency Service and the police - have been working at the sites of the attacks since the first minutes. We are engaging the necessary forces and equipment to help people," the Interior Minister emphasized.

It also became known that as a result of the night attack, 5 ambulances were damaged, which were responding to calls to the injured residents of Kyiv. As of 08:38, there were no injuries among the medics.

As of 7:37 a.m., the State Emergency Service of Ukraine updated information on the consequences of the enemy attack.

Solomianskyi district: the attack caused partial destruction of a 5-storey building. A fire broke out on the roof of a 7-storey building on the area of 2000 square meters. There were fires in a warehouse building, on the territory of a service station and a garage cooperative. A lot of civilian infrastructure was damaged.

Sviatoshynskyi district: a fire broke out in a 14-storey residential building as a result of a hit. Cars also caught fire. Several fires in non-residential buildings are being extinguished.

Shevchenkivskyi district: an unoccupied 8-storey building was attacked by a UAV, and the first floor was destroyed.

In Darnytsia and Holosiivskyi districts, fragments of enemy UAVs fell.

"More than 450 rescuers and about 100 units of equipment of the State Emergency Service are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the shelling in Kyiv," the statement said.

As of 6:42 a.m., Vitali Klitschko informed that the number of injured in Kyiv had increased to 19.

“Five people are being treated on an outpatient basis, 14 have been hospitalized,” he added.

At 8:14 p.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration posted about the work of air defense in the capital.

Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, informed that the downing of a Russian drone had been confirmed. Its wreckage was found in an open area in the Solomyansky district. There is no information about the victims.

At 9:28 p.m., Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed about the work of air defense on the left bank of Kyiv.

“Russian drones are still approaching the capital. Stay in shelters,” he added.

At 9:45 p.m., Klitschko reported that medics were called to the Obolon district, where the wreckage of a drone had previously fallen on the roof of a residential building. He later clarified that no injuries or damage to the house had been found.

"Meanwhile, we are receiving reports of the recorded consequences of the attack. In Obolonskyi district, preliminary, there is a fire on the roof of a 16-storey residential building," wrote the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tkachenko.

At 10:41 p.m., Klitschko informed that in the Dniprovskyi district, the wreckage of a UAV was found near an educational institution and several residential buildings.

At 11:47 p.m., Tkachenko said that a fire broke out in a non-residential building in Solomianskyi district.

"The fire has been extinguished. Fortunately, there were no casualties," the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration wrote as of 00:17 a.m.

Tkachenko clarified that the information about debris falling on the roof of a high-rise building in Obolonskyi district was not confirmed.

At 4:10 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke about the consequences of the attack.

In the Dniprovskyi district, the UAV debris fell in the yard of residential buildings and on the territory of an educational institution. They did not burn.

In Solomianskyi district, debris fell on non-residential buildings. And also on the territory of a garage cooperative. There was a fire there. Warehouses were also on fire in the area. And there was a fire in an administrative building.

In Sviatoshynskyi district, the wreckage of a Russian UAV fell on the territory of a warehouse, causing a fire. Debris also fell into the courtyard of a 16-story residential building, setting cars on fire. A fire broke out in the private sector as a result of falling debris.

In Darnytsia district, debris fell in several places in the open area. No detonation and no fire.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the debris damaged an 8-storey residential building (commissioned but not occupied). The fire occurred on the first floor of the building. There was also a fire in the private sector.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, advised to close the windows.

"We have fires in a number of locations. After the alarm is over and you return to your homes, close the windows. There is a high concentration of combustion products in the air," he wrote.

As of 4:15 a.m., seven people were reported injured in the capital, all of whom were hospitalized.

At 4:32 a.m., Vitali Klitschko said that the fall of debris was also recorded in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital. A medical facility was damaged there.

At 4:52 a.m., it was reported that 14 people had been injured as a result of the Russian attack on the capital.

"12 of them were hospitalized, two were treated on the spot," Klitschko said.

Damage to railroad infrastructure

At 5:40 a.m., Ukrzaliznytsia reported that Russian shelling had damaged railroad infrastructure within Kyiv.

Westbound passenger trains take a deviated route through Vyshneve and Darnytsia, causing delays of up to 2 hours.

Kyiv City Express currently runs only on the northern half-ring Sviatoshyn - Pochayna - Darnytsia (in both directions). Due to the combination with passenger trains, deviations from the schedule are possible.

“We apologize and are already making prompt repairs, reserve diesel locomotives will bring trains within the capital when traffic resumes on the Sviatoshyn-Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi section,” the company added.

Consequences of attack on Kyiv region

At 5:20 p.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that Russian UAVs were spotted in the region. Air defense forces were operating.

At 10:46 p.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that air defense forces were operating in the region again.

At 11:40 p.m., the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, wrote that air defense forces were operating in the region and had shot down Russian targets.

He said that as a result of the Russian attack in Bucha district, the windows of a four-story apartment building and a private house were damaged. 

Consequences of attack on Poltava region

As of the morning of July 4, Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, said that the roof and windows of a residential building were damaged as a result of the fall of UAV debris in Kremenchuk district.

"Unfortunately, two people were injured. They were hospitalized," he added.

At 9:05 p.m., the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut, wrote that air defense was operating in the region.

"A car was damaged in Poltava district on the territory of a private household as a result of the fall of enemy UAV fragments. A person was injured. Doctors are providing him with all the necessary assistance," he said an hour later.

At 11:20 p.m., Kohut wrote that another person was injured in Poltava district as a result of the fall of UAV debris.

Kirovohrad region

According to the head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, a residential building in the Znamianska community was partially damaged by a Russian attack.

"A 52-year-old woman sustained minor injuries. She received the necessary medical care. Her health is not in danger. The damaged house will be inspected by the commission," he added. 

Air Defense Operation in Zaporizhzhia 

At 10:41 p.m., the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov reported on the air defense operation.

Explosion in Odesa

At 5:25 p.m., Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported that an explosion had occurred in the city.
