Russian attack on Ukraine kills civilian in Odesa, injures multiple others
On November 7, Russia launched attack drones at Ukraine, triggering air raid alerts. On the morning of November 8, missile strikes were also launched
Missile attack on Kyiv region
Around 5 a.m., Russian forces launched missile strikes, with targets detected in the direction of Kyiv. Explosions were reported in the capital and surrounding areas.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration confirmed that air defense systems were activated.
At 7:29 a.m., Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, reported that debris from downed missiles injured four people during the attack. The injured were car drivers near the debris impact site and sustained varying degrees of injuries.
"One of the men is in serious condition, two others are in moderate condition, and the fourth has light injuries. All are receiving medical treatment and have been hospitalized locally," the administration’s statement noted.
As of 7:30 a.m., the National Police of Ukraine reported damage to six private houses and four cars in the Kyiv region. Fires had also broken out on grass and at an inactive gas station but were promptly extinguished.
Police are now inspecting the affected areas and documenting the aftermath of the attack.

Attack on Odesa region
At 10:46 p.m., Suspilne reported explosions in Odesa. By 11 p.m., the Regional Military Administration confirmed that Russian forces were attacking the city and surrounding area with attack drones, and Ukrainian air defense forces were responding.
At 11:15 p.m., Suspilne reported further explosions in Odesa.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Regional Military Administration, confirmed significant damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries. He stated, "Private houses were damaged, several of them caught fire. Windows were shattered and the facade of an educational institution in Odesa was also damaged. Additionally, two gas pipes in Odesa were depressurized and ignited due to shrapnel. Numerous buildings had broken windows."
By 1:05 a.m., two people had been reported injured, one in Odesa and one in the suburbs.
In the morning, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported preliminary data indicating that one person was killed and nine others injured in the Russian attack on the Odesa region.
Residential buildings in the private sector were damaged, with fires breaking out in two of them.
"State Emergency Service psychologists assisted 15 individuals, including one child and one pregnant woman. Rescuers also extinguished fires in warehouses and cars at one of the enterprises. A building at an educational institution was damaged, and pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service conducted searches for explosives," the statement said.

Khmelnytskyi region
According to the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tiurin, while repelling a Russian air attack, air defense forces shot down two Shaheds.
“The attack damaged the roof and windows in the apartments of a two-story residential building. The fire has been extinguished. No one was injured or killed,” he noted.
