Russia attacks civilian infrastructure in southern Ukraine with drones and ballistic missiles

On the night of April 10, Russia hits an energy facility in Mykolaiv region with a UAV strike. In the morning, Russia launched ballistic missiles at Odesa region, injuring two employees of a transportation company.

The Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces reported in the morning that the Russians had attacked the region with regular waves of attack drones that night. The occupation forces again targeted the energy infrastructure.

Air defense forces managed to destroy 14 Russian drones overnight - 12 in Mykolaiv region and 2 in Odesa region.

However, there were also hits. In the Mykolaiv region, Russian troops hit an energy facility. A fire broke out there, which has already been localized by firefighters. The consequences of the attack are being clarified, but there are no preliminary reports of casualties. 

Fragments of the downed drones also caused a fire at a recreational facility in the coastal zone of the Ochakiv community. The fire was extinguished, no one was injured.

According to the Regional Military Administration, emergency blackouts were introduced in Mykolaiv district as a result of the night attack, and restoration work is underway.

Ukrenergo also later said that due to damage to equipment at one of the substations, the control center was forced to impose emergency blackouts in the Mykolaiv region.

As of 8:00 a.m., according to the head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim, all previously disconnected consumers have been reconnected. He added that power engineers are working and doing everything possible to keep it that way.

In addition, at dawn, Russian troops attacked the Odesa region with ballistic missiles. They hit critical, transport and logistics infrastructure. Two employees of a transport company have already been reported injured.

The military adds that an energy facility, a private house, and several cars were also damaged. People were fortunately spared.

Instead, Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov said that Russia had hit the city's energy infrastructure.

"The enemy has been 'congratulating' Odesa on the Liberation Day (from the Nazis - ed.) all morning. In the city, the Russians hit the energy infrastructure. We are assessing the extent of damage to the power facility," he wrote.

According to the mayor of Odesa, one person has been reported injured.

Ukrainian air defense forces destroy 14 Shaheds and two Kh-59s at night

The Air Force reported that on the night of April 10, the Russian occupation army attempted to attack the territory of Ukraine with drones and missiles.

It is noted that during the night, Russia launched 17 Shahed-131/136 UAVs from Cape Chauda at Ukraine. Russia also attacked with two Iskander-K cruise missiles and one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," the Air Force wrote, adding that the Armed Forces destroyed 14 Shaheds in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

In addition, at about 8 p.m., Ukraine’s air defense destroyed two Kh-59 guided missiles that Russia used to attack Odesa.
