Russia attacks Ukraine with guided bombs, explosions leave 20 injured, including 2 children
On the morning of October 7, Russian troops launched guided bombs and missiles at Ukraine, injuring 20 people in Kherson, including two children
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the information.
Russia launched guided bombs in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and the Sumy region. After that, the sound of an explosion was heard in Zaporizhzhia.
At 9:35 a.m., Russian tactical aircraft were spotted in the northeastern and Zaporizhzhia directions, and the threat of air strikes was reported for the frontline regions, Kherson and Mykolaiv.
Subsequently, the Ukrainian Air Force reported multiple bomb launches targeting the Sumy region. Two additional launches were recorded at 10:06 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Furthermore, Russian forces targeted areas in the Donetsk region.
At 10:25 a.m., a missile alert was issued in the Odesa region, coinciding with Russian forces launching guided bombs at Kherson and again targeting the Sumy region.
By 10:36 a.m., additional bomb strikes were reported in the direction of Kramatorsk, followed by another attack on the Sumy region.
Strike on Kherson
According to the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, at about 10:40 a.m., the Russian army launched an air strike on Kherson city.
Russia launched 4 guided aerial bombs at the city, which hit civilian objects. The blast waves damaged at least 6 high-rise buildings.
Later, Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, clarified that Russian forces targeted a previously destroyed school and residential buildings in the central district of Kherson. As of 1:30 p.m., 17 casualties had been reported.
Among the victims are two children: a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, both hospitalized with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to their legs. Fortunately, their condition is currently stable.
According to the Regional Military Administration, 14 other individuals are receiving medical care in the hospital, including six men and eight women. Additionally, one elderly woman was treated on-site by an ambulance crew.
It was later reported that another victim, an 18-year-old, had been hospitalized due to the Russian airstrike on Kherson, suffering from an explosive injury and a shin injury. He received medical attention and was released for outpatient treatment.
By 2:45 p.m., the number of victims had risen to 20. A 66-year-old man with an explosive injury was admitted to the hospital, where doctors are examining and assisting him. Another victim, a 63-year-old man, also sustained an explosive injury and contusion and is currently hospitalized.
The State Emergency Service released photos showing the aftermath of the morning Russian attack on Kherson. They reported that an educational institution had been partially destroyed, and a fire broke out in the city. The shockwave from the attack also damaged a multi-storey residential building, trapping two people in one of the apartments.
