Russia attacks in 7 directions, 86 combat clashes take place at front overnight

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on February 27.

There were 86 combat engagements over the last day. Russians launched 4 missile strikes, 52 airstrikes, and 94 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

"As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged," the General Staff writes.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 11 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka and Tabaivka, where the Russian army tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions to no avail. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled nine enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six Russian attacks near Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Over 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian army in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, and west of Pobieda in the Donetsk region, where the invading troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 15 times, and repelled four more enemy attacks in the areas south of Vuhledar, Staromaiorsk, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Ukrainian army repelled 6 Russian attacks near Malynivka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. About 20 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 15 manpower concentration areas. In addition to destroying 2 Su-34 fighter-bombers, the Ukrainian Air Force also destroyed 4 reconnaissance UAVs.

The missile troops struck 3 Russian military positions, 2 artillery pieces, an air defense system, and a radar station.
