Russia will reach a point of no return if it loses the ability to sell oil and gas, which would cut off a critical revenue stream and dramatically reshape the global situation around Ukraine

Oksana Yurinets, former lawmaker, former head of the Ukrainian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University, stated this on Espreso TV.

"The enemy will continue to intimidate, and unfortunately, it's hard to expect anything positive because the pressure will increase. Russian oligarch Deripaska has already made a statement that if America takes away their ability to sell hydrocarbons, it will be such a point of no return when Russians won't have this resource," Yurinets noted.

According to the former MP, the situation is currently changing very clearly—not only in the rules but also in America's behavior, as it is withdrawing from approximately 60 different organizations in which it previously participated. Now we have a situation where Ukraine is at the center of all these global events, and this is what will drive everyone forward.

"Unfortunately, we are entering a situation where all processes are interconnected; they are not random—this is a general chain of events in which we live. And we didn't choose the time in which to live," Yurinets added.

  • American leader Donald Trump has approved a bipartisan bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia.
