
Ukraine, Austria sign memorandums on cooperation in politics, economy, and recovery
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in Vienna on June 16. The countries signed memorandums on cooperation in various spheres of politics and economy
This was reported by Zelenskyy on Telegram.
He emphasized the importance of Austria's growing support for Ukraine: humanitarian demining, the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, energy and cyber security, joint European sanctions policy, and the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
The countries are also deepening cooperation at the municipal and regional levels and involving Austrian private businesses to strengthen Ukraine's resilience.
"We thank Austria, the Austrian people, and personally Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and Ms. Doris Schmidauer for their support of Ukraine and our people," Zelenskyy noted.
The press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Serhii Nykyforov, provided information on the documents signed between Austria and Ukraine. In particular, in the presence of the presidents:
- A joint communiqué on the protection and return of Ukrainian children from the Russian Federation.
- A memorandum on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
- A memorandum of understanding on the development of interregional and municipal cooperation.
- A memorandum of understanding on the development of cooperation between Odesa Region and the federal state of Upper Austria.
- A declaration of intent on political cooperation as well as cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Also, in the presence of the President of Ukraine and the Chancellor of Austria, a political declaration of intent on economic cooperation was signed.
- In Canada, the latest G7 summit will continue until Tuesday, June 17. On its sidelines, a meeting is planned between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States.
