Putin's ambition is to conquer: Zelenskyy says Russia has spent $1 trillion on war in Ukraine over three years
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that over the three years of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has spent around $1 trillion on the war against Ukraine
He said this in an interview with CBS News.
According to Zelesnkyy, Putin has already drawn three countries into the war against Ukraine: Iran, North Korea, and China.
"Three countries are already involved in this war. And more will be drawn in. Or more troops from these countries will be involved if the war is not stopped. There are stakeholders in this war today. North Koreans, Chinese, and Iranians are already profiting from it. And as long as the war continues and billions are being spent — and Putin has already spent over $1 trillion on this war over three years — these countries will not want to stop," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He noted that Russia’s defense industry is operating at full capacity, producing as many weapons as all of Europe combined.
“By putting all of Europe at risk, Putin is already producing as many weapons as the whole of Europe. Putin’s ambition is to conquer us. But everyone in the world knows — everyone knows about this war and about historic wars. If we don’t stop it, it will continue,” the head of state concluded.
