Putin rushes to start negotiations with Ukraine: political strategist Zahorodniy explains why
Political strategist Taras Zahorodniy believes that the Russian energy system will collapse in the fall, so the regime is trying to negotiate with Ukraine as soon as possible
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“I talk to energy experts who follow Russia. So, they say that Russia will have big problems with energy in the fall. Energy consumption decreased in the summer, and the fact that Ukraine is hitting their refineries and energy infrastructure will manifest itself in the fall. That's why Putin is in such a hurry to hold talks with Ukraine, so as not to show his weakness later,” Zahorodniy explained.
The political strategist noted that strikes on Russian refineries could lead to chaos in Russia.
“Ukraine must keep on hitting the Russian energy infrastructure. We must destroy their refineries, which will lead to chaos in Russia. It will only be a matter of time. In particular, when their entire system begins to collapse. It is also worth noting the talks in the US about strikes with their weapons on the territory of Russia. This also affects the Russians, and they are forced to look for opportunities to negotiate now,” he added.
- On the night of May 17, explosions occurred in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. As a result, the port and Tuapse oil refinery were allegedly hit.
- According to Bloomberg, Ukrainian drone strikes have disabled about 14% of Russia's oil refining capacity, which has led to a 20-30% increase in fuel prices in Russia.
