Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported this.

"Putin responds with such brutal strikes to Ukraine's unconditional proposal for a ceasefire for 30 days or longer. He is consciously mocking the peace efforts of the U.S.," Sybiha said.

According to him, pressure on Moscow must be increased to end the war in Ukraine.

"This is also another reminder of why celebrating the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazism with Putin's Russia is unacceptable. These are not liberators, but war criminals," the Foreign Minister stated.

Zelenskyy’s response

The head of Ukraine stated that overnight, the Russian forces launched 4 ballistic missiles and 142 drones, half of which were Shaheds.

According to him, Kyiv was hit twice. First, the enemy struck with ballistic missiles, and in the morning, attacked with drones. As of 10 a.m., seven people are known to be injured, including four children. Two people—a woman and her son—were killed.

Additionally, there were numerous strikes in the evening on the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kherson, and Dnipro regions. After a Russian ballistic missile strike on Velyka Chernechchyna in the Sumy region, the Russians also began using aerial bombs. They shelled the area while rescue operations were underway.

“Only significant pressure on Russia and stronger sanctions can open the way for diplomacy. Any measures that deprive the aggressor of resources to wage war must be applied for the sake of lasting peace,” he added.

  • On the evening of May 6, Russia launched drones and ballistic missiles at Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia, an infrastructure facility was hit, injuring at least four people. In Kyiv, debris damaged residential buildings and set warehouses on fire, leaving dead and injured, including children.
