This was reported by the Russian propaganda media RIA-Novosti.
During a meeting with Russian students who took part in the military aggression, Vladimir Putin said that more than 600,000 people are fighting against Ukraine.
The terrorist leader also voiced a number of propaganda narratives: "nationalists were the masters of Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR", and genocide was allegedly taking place in Donbas.
Putin's estimate cannot be independently verified and may differ from reality. However, if it is close to reality, then more than a million people could have been involved in a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
- On January 26, it was reported that Vladimir Putin had sent a signal to the US through indirect channels that he was open to discussing the end of war in Ukraine.
