Ukrainian official shares details how head of Olenivka colony was eliminated
The former adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, noted that the wife of the former head of the Olenivka colony is an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the so-called DPR
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
‘The Olenivka colony was opened in 2022, when the first 'filtration' from Mariupol began. Yevsyukov's wife, who was in the car with him, is not just a wife, she is also an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the so-called DPR, and she is also involved in torture, identification and humiliation of our pro-Ukrainian community under occupation, as well as Ukrainian citizens who were taken to Olenivka. Therefore, this is an absolutely fair retribution for this family,’ Andriushchenko stressed.

According to the former advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, the operation was prepared for more than a week or even a month. They studied the schedules, habits, and routes of the former head of the Olenivka colony. People working in the occupation were also involved.
‘As for the details, I can say that the explosive device was installed near the driver's seat. The occupation authorities say it was 100 grams of TNT equivalent, but judging by the consequences, it was much more. The explosives were placed outside the car and very precisely. It is very significant that this happened in the very centre of Donetsk. This is both revenge and a demonstration that the underground is fighting,’ Andriushchenko added.
Terrorist attack in Olenivka
On the night of July 29, 2022, the Russian armed forces carried out a targeted deliberate artillery attack on a prison in the village of Olenivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian POWs were held. The explosion killed at least 53 people and injured over 130.
Russia accused Ukraine of plotting the attack, alleging that it was carried out by a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system that Kyiv had received from the United States. The invaders even showed fragments of what they claimed was a munition allegedly found at the scene. The Russian Ministry of Defense invited experts, specialists from the UN and the Red Cross to the colony in Olenivka. However, representatives of international organizations were not granted access to the site of the tragedy.
On October 11, 2022, Ukraine was able to return the bodies of 62 soldiers, including those killed during the mass execution in Olenivka. However, the exact number of victims of this crime and the list of the dead can only be determined after identification.
On July 25, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk denied Russia's allegations that the Olenivka prison had been shelled with HIMARS missile systems and condemned the lack of accountability for the killings of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
On July 29, the Security Service of Ukraine charged the former head of the Volnovakha colony of the ‘Donetsk People's Republic’ (DPR), Serhiy Yevsiukov, and his former first deputy, Dmytro Neyolov, with the involvement in the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners in Olenivka, Donetsk region, in July 2022.
