Russia is ramping up attacks on Ukrainian cities, destroying power infrastructure in an attempt to break the people's will. This genocidal war can only be stopped through international unity

Ukrainian lawmaker Mykola Kniazhytskyi expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.

"This is Putin's desperation, which is turning into the destruction and torture of civilians. Obviously, this is a war crime connected to the fact that Russia is losing on the front. Even those small successes of the Russian Federation that were mentioned over the past six months have slowed down.

The world sees this, and it's very important for Putin to break the spirit of Ukrainians, the inner strength of Ukrainians. To show that inside the country, it's possible to provoke internal confrontation, bring about destabilization, and destroy the economy," Kniazhytskyi emphasized.

According to the MP, Putin's current actions are directed not so much against Ukraine's economy as against the civilian population. The strikes on Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, where energy infrastructure is being destroyed, aim to destroy the lives of Ukrainians. And this is part of a genocidal war against the Ukrainian people.

"But Ukraine will endure. Unfortunately, we live in a difficult time for international politics. And Putin can only be stopped through collective solidarity, which is why the position of European countries is extremely important, because together we will definitely win," Kniazhytskyi concluded.

  • On the night of Tuesday, January 20, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles. As a result of hits in Dnipro, two women were wounded; in Kyiv, one person was injured, and the city is experiencing disruptions in heat and energy supply. There is one fatality in the Kyiv region. The consequences of the enemy attack are also recorded in the Odesa, Vinnytsia, Rivne, and Poltava regions.
