Russia attacks Kherson and nearby settlements, victim count rises to 14
On July 28, Russian forces targeted Kherson and nearby settlements, including a college. The attack resulted in about 14 civilians getting injured
The head of Kherson city military administration, Roman Mrochko, reported the incident.
Three individuals on the outskirts of Kherson—born in 2007, 1991, and 1949—were injured. They suffered explosive injuries and contusions, and doctors are conducting further examinations.
Residential buildings were also damaged.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional military administration, later reported that Russian forces attacked a central Kherson educational institution at night, causing a fire. No injuries were reported. He shared a video of the aftermath.
The Kherson Regional State Administration later reported that on the morning of July 28, Russia attacked the village of Komyshany, injuring a family, including two children.
"A 32-year-old woman sustained explosive injuries to her face, torso, arms, and legs. Her children, a 10-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, were also injured. The girl had an explosive injury and brain concussion, while the boy had abdominal and leg injuries," the report stated.
A 75-year-old woman also suffered explosive and craniocerebral injuries and a contusion. All victims were hospitalized.
On the morning of July 29, it was reported that a Komyshany resident injured the previous day sought hospital assistance. A 40-year-old man was diagnosed with explosive and craniocerebral injuries and a contusion.
A 16-year-old boy also went to the hospital independently, suffering from an explosive injury and a contusion.
In Pryozerne, a 65-year-old woman received explosive injuries and a contusion.
Later, it was reported that attacks on Komyshany continued. A 56-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized with leg injuries and a contusion.
Around 10:30, Russian forces hit Kindiyka, injuring a 76-year-old man on the street. He suffered explosive injuries and wounds to his head, forearm, and leg and was hospitalized.
In the afternoon, Russians targeted Kherson again, injuring a 26-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman in the Dnipro district with a drone.
"Both victims have blast injuries and hip injuries. The ambulance took them to the hospital," the State Administration said.
