Over the past month, Russian forces captured 44% less territory than in August, with the most problematic front being the Novopavlivka sector

The OSINT project DeepState reported the information.

According to OSINT analysts, the pace of occupation in September nearly halved. The Russian troops managed to seize 259 sq. km — 0.04% of the country’s total area — the lowest since May.

“Novopavlivka is the main problem sector, where advances far outnumber assault operations, and recent personnel decisions here do not inspire much hope for improvement. Kupiansk has become one of the worst sectors, and if timely decisions hadn’t been made, it could have ended in tragedy. But it’s too early to say the threat has passed, as the battle for the city continues,” analysts write.

At the same time, DeepState notes effective defense in the Pokrovsk direction.

“Every 10th sq. km of occupied territory falls in this sector, with a third of all assaults aimed at Pokrovsk and its surroundings. Yet the cost of every meter here is much higher, and the Russians have approached the city from the south. Fighting in fields versus in urban areas is a completely different level of difficulty, and there is practically no depth left in the territory,” the report says.

  • On the morning of October 1, DeepState also updated its combat map. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russians advanced near Novoivanivka, Ternove, and Stepove.
