No Russian presence in Chasiv Yar – Ukrainian Armed Forces
Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region is firmly under Ukrainian Armed Forces' control
This is according to Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the "Khortytsia" Operational Command.
"Chasiv Yar is standing strong. Despite enemy pressure in the Bakhmut direction, particularly in Chasiv Yar, the situation remains completely under control, with no sign of the enemy in the city," emphasized Voloshyn.
Ongoing attempts by the enemy to capture Chasiv Yar
National Guard Major Dmytro Kozhubenko reported that the occupiers are attempting to attack Defense Forces positions while circumventing Chasiv Yar, due to their inability to breach Ukrainian defenses along the frontline. Notably, the occupiers are focusing their efforts on the Kostyantynivka – Chasiv Yar road and from the direction of Bohdanivka, concentrating a significant number of personnel in these areas.
Kozhubenko also revealed that the Russians employ artillery fire to destroy mines before launching assault groups, essentially using them as cannon fodder during attacks. Despite this tactic, the presence of mines does not appear to deter the Russians significantly. The effective efforts of Defense Forces units are the primary deterrent against the invaders.
