No Russian forces in Dnipropetrovsk region, yet frontline areas face heavy shelling - local official
Active evacuation of local residents is underway in all frontline settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk region due to intensified Russian shelling
Deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Kateryna Nemchenko shared the information on Espreso TV.
“The situation in the frontline zone of Dnipropetrovsk region is not improving. It is only getting worse, with more frontline communities undergoing evacuation. It is important to note that we are not talking about Russian troops entering the region. Currently, the Dnipropetrovsk region is fully controlled by the Defense Forces; there is no Russian equipment or units present. However, shelling on communities near the border with the Donetsk region is intensifying. It is almost impossible to stay in these communities. Russian occupiers attack not only with drones but also with other means; these strikes have become widespread,” Nemchenko said.
The deputy also mentioned that there are already settlements where the local population has been fully evacuated.
“All residents of frontline settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region are being evacuated. Some settlements are already completely evacuated, with only a few people left behind, mostly men, who are watching over their property,” she added.
- On Sunday, June 1, a second wave of forced evacuation was launched from the Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk region. This is due to the worsening security situation.
