Nearly 200 skirmishes erupt in one day: Russia's most intense attacks

On August 31, Russian forces continued their offensive on the frontlines, with 199 combat clashes. The most intense fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

According to detailed reports, Russia launched five missile strikes using ten missiles, carried out 73 air strikes, and dropped 96 guided bombs on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas. Additionally, Russian forces fired nearly 3,900 artillery rounds, with 96 of those being from MLRS.

Airstrikes targeted 19 settlements across Ukraine.

In response, Ukrainian aviation, missile, and artillery forces executed eight strikes on Russian troop concentrations and another on a Russian ammunition depot.

Frontline update

Russian forces launched two attacks in the Kharkiv direction, targeting Lyptsi and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian assaults surged to 24 in one day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled all attempts near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Lozova, Novoosynove, Hlushkivka, and Berestove.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces fought off 18 attacks in nine different locations, including the Serebrinka Forest. Russia focused its efforts on Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove, and Nevske.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled nine assaults near Verkhnyokamyanske, Bilohorivka, Spirne, Zvanivka, and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops halted 20 Russian attempts to breach defenses around Bila Hora, Ivanivske, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, Chasiv Yar, and Kalynivka, with over half of the fighting concentrated near Kalynivka.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched 14 attacks near Kurdyumivka, Nelipivka, New York, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 52 Russian assaults. The heaviest fighting occurred near Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, and Mykhailivka, with six, twenty, and ten assaults, respectively.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian forces fended off Russian attacks near Ukrainsk, Lisivka, Halytsynivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. The fiercest fighting was near Heorhiivka, with 13 assaults throughout the day.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times near Vuhledar, Makarivka, Vremivka, Vodyane, and Kostiantynivka.

Four skirmishes occurred in the Orikhiv direction: two near Robotyne and two near Mala Tokmachka.

In the Kherson direction, three Russian assaults ended in failure.

Along the Belarus border, the operational situation remains stable, with no signs of Russian offensive group formations.

Meanwhile, in the Kursk region, Russian forces are relentlessly shelling and bombing their own towns and villages.

Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on Russian troops, draining their manpower and resources along the entire front and deep into their rear.

  • In the last 24 hours, Russian forces lost dozens of vehicles and over 1,300 soldiers on the frontlines.
