CNN reported that Rutte praised last week’s ceasefire proposal agreed upon by Ukrainian and U.S. representatives in Saudi Arabia, calling it a positive step.

He also dismissed concerns that Trump may overly trust Putin, emphasizing that "he knows President Putin very well from his first term. So he knows how he has to make sure that he can get a deal done. I have full trust in that."

  • NATO Secretary General Rutte stated that relations with Russia could be normalized after the end of the Russia-Ukraine war.
