NATO chief Rutte says ties with Russia could normalize after Ukraine war ends

He made this statement in an interview with Bloomberg.  

"It’s normal if the war would have stopped for Europe somehow, step by step, and also for the US, step by step, to restore normal relations with Russia," Rutte said.  

At the same time, he emphasized that "we are absolutely not there yet," underscoring the need to maintain pressure on Russia to ensure they approach negotiations seriously.

"We have to maintain the pressure on them (the Russians)" to guarantee that Russia takes the negotiations seriously, said the NATO Secretary General.
