Moscow denies any agreement with Trump for Putin–Zelenskyy meeting
Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov says that at the Alaska summit between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, there were no agreements to set up a meeting between Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, nor any plans for trilateral talks
He said this in an interview with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin, RIA Novosti reports.
Ushakov stated that "many mutual understandings" were reached between Moscow and Washington.
According to Ushakov, the visits of U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff became the basis for the presidents' discussions in the U.S., after which the parties "agreed on further steps."
Also, as the Kremlin representative reported, during the Alaska summit the "idea of raising the level of delegations of Russia and Ukraine" was touched upon. At the same time, Ushakov emphasized that there were no agreements between Putin and Trump regarding a meeting between the Russian dictator and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or on trilateral negotiations.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said in China that he "hopes" the "understandings" reached at the summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska "will open the way to peace in Ukraine."
