Protracted missile attack: military expert Zgurets on Russia's overnight Shahed drone deployment
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets believes that the Russian army will resume attacks using bombers and Kh-101 missiles
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“Russia is implementing various approaches to attack Ukrainian territory. The latest Russian attacks were complex. They used both Shaheds and various types of ground- and air-based strike systems. Now we are witnessing another enemy missile attack that is stretched over time. Today we have seen a significant use of Shahed UAVs, which are always used as the first echelon of a strike to activate air defense and the work of groups that destroy drones,” explained Zgurets.
According to the military expert, during Russian attacks, the location field that Russia is monitoring is activated.
“And the next waves of enemy attacks are aimed at taking into account the dynamics related to the configuration of air defense in a certain period of time. After the first Shahed attacks, the enemy is likely to resume attacks using bombers and Kh-101 missiles,” Zgurets suggested.
The director of the Defense Express information and consulting company hopes that Ukraine's air defense system is ready for Russian missile attacks.
“We are currently witnessing a stretched in time attack on our civilian and military facilities. 40 Shaheds that attacked Kyiv were shot down. But the risks of continuation of this attack still remain,” added Zgurets.
- On July 30, Russian troops launched Shahed UAVs to atack Ukraine, and a ballistic threat was also announced.
