No Ukraine-Russia meetings until war-end plan is developed — Zelenskyy's aide
The head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak, emphasized that Ukraine will not engage in negotiations with the Russian side without a concrete plan in place
He wrote this on Telegram, summarizing the two-day conference in Munich.
"The Ukrainian delegation brought to Germany the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian nation. And confidence in the future, even though we are a country at war," Yermak noted.
He mentioned having substantive discussions with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg. According to the head of the President's Office, Ukraine has clearly defined its red lines in terms of its interests, and the discussion about a deal on rare earth resources was concrete, though still requiring more time and ideas for further development.
"At every meeting and in every dialogue, we defended the position that the dialogue on European security cannot happen without Ukraine and the EU," emphasized the President's Office head.
He also pointed out that reports of meetings between Ukrainian representatives and Russians are fake. "There have been no meetings, and none will take place until we have a plan in place. The president has clearly answered these questions. We spoke about security guarantees, and the president made it clear that any agreement made without Ukraine will not be accepted by us. For security guarantees, we need the U.S. We will never make decisions that go against Ukraine's interests. The negotiations are ongoing," said Yermak.
Also, Andriy Yermak mentioned that during a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister, he reminded them of Russia's strike on the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and emphasized that Moscow poses a nuclear threat to the world.
"We have new stages of negotiations ahead. And we will continue to stand firm on Ukraine's key interests — a just peace," the head of the President's Office concluded.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that he plans to visit Saudi Arabia, but there will be no meeting with Russian representatives.
